Don't have a Dutch diploma?
Then you must meet these admission requirements:
- You must have sufficient prior education. Do you have a diploma from your country of origin? Then this diploma must be translated and evaluated. Read more about credential evaluation.
- The college or university decides whether you have sufficient previous education. Do you not have a diploma or is your previous education insufficient? Then you have to take entrance exams. We call this the 21+ tests or colloqium doctum. Find out when you can take entrance exams. Some exams are already taken at the beginning of the year.
- You must pass the State Exam NT2, Program 2 diploma (language level B1 and B2). You need this diploma for almost all Dutch-taught studies. Look at NT2 State Exam For more information. For MBO-3 or MBO-4 you sometimes only need language level B1. Please check with your study programme.
- For English-language studies, but also for some Dutch-language studies HBO or university studies, you must have a IELTS- or TOEFLtake the exam. Check this well in advance. Are you a client of the UAF and do you want to study in English? The UAF only pays for this if you can speak and read Dutch at language level B1.
Are there enough study places in the Netherlands?
Some studies are very popular. There are not enough study places for all students. You must then be entered or selected. The latter is called decentralized selection. Read more about lots and decentralized selection.
