This year, the World Team consists of a maximum of 50 participants. The team is led by stage artist Mo Hersi, but Jörgen Raymann is also participating, as is our own director-manager Mirjam Huisman. Last year, the team consisted of more than twenty nationalities.

Why participate?

The 4-Day Marches is a legendary walking event. As a member of the World Team, you will experience an unforgettable adventure. Whether you are a student, a former student or a colleague: everyone can participate! But you will not walk the Nijmegen Four Day Marches untrained. In addition, we are turning the four-day marches into a sponsored walk to raise money for the UAF. This way, we can continue to support refugee students, professionals and scientists.

What do you get as a participant?

As a refugee student your participation is free! You will receive:

• A starting ticket for the 4 Days Marches (worth €110)
• A backpack or hip bag
• Four World Team Jerseys
• Lowa hiking boots (value €180)
• Four pairs of hiking socks
• A water bottle

Are you a former student, colleague or friend of the UAF? Then you can get this complete package for only € 110, including guaranteed participation (no drawing necessary!).

What to expect?

• Distances: You walk 4×30, 4×40 or 4×50 kilometers, depending on your age and gender. Everyone walks at their own pace, but on the way and in our accommodation we will definitely meet each other!
• Preparation: To be well prepared at the start, we organize four joint training days. Here you get to know your teammates and work on your walking condition.
• Stay: Don't live near Nijmegen? No problem! We have reserved 30 places in Het Buitencentrum Overasselt (€465,- pp for five nights, including meals and transport to the start and from the finish back). For students with a limited budget we will find a suitable solution.

Walk for a good cause

Participation in the World Team is not only a sporting challenge, but also a sponsored walk. Each participant does his/her/their best to collect at least €500 in sponsorship money from friends, family, companies or organizations. These proceeds go to the UAF, with which we continue to support refugee students and professionals in the Netherlands.
